Why exactly do you want to start a blog? What prompted you to open this tutorial? I created my blog, Making It Pay To Stay just for fun, but it’s grown to produce some nice passive income. There’s no right or wrong reason, and your “why” may vary, but here are some of the most popular motivations:

To Help Other People

Even if you’re in the blogging game to make money, you’re still helping others by providing information.

I enjoy talking about the benefits from working virtually and I hope that my content helps others by providing motivation, encouragement, and inspiration.

Perhaps you don’t think anyone will be “helped” by your blog, but believe me, someone out there can relate and will enjoy what you have to say.

Just for Fun

I started my blog for fun. I liked having a creative outlet to talk about things I enjoyed, what was going on in my life, and connecting with other bloggers. The topics were all over the place, but that didn’t matter to me. I learned a LOT and those hands-on lessons have been invaluable as I’ve moved forward.

To Meet Other Like Minded People & Make Friends

Blogging is a great way to connect with other people online who have similar interests and goals. Sometimes in real life, you may not meet many people you really connect with on a deeper level. When you blog and can become part of a bigger community, there’s a special feeling of purpose that comes with that.

To Develop Your Skills

You will learn so many things as a blogger. How to write better, how to craft engaging headlines, how to tweak the appearance of your blog, and how to form mutually beneficial partnerships.

To Make Money 3

This is probably why you are reading this. Blogging is a great way to start a business, build one you already have, or just have a profitable side gig.

What if your blog could pay for your groceries each month? What if you were able to pay off debt quickly by the income you make from a blog? Wouldn’t it be nice to save up the cost of college education for your kids without leaving your home? Or, what if you really tap into something big and are able to make a full-time income and travel whenever you wanted? These are all real possibilities and I’m going to show you how to build a blog with a solid foundation and unlimited potential.

Hopefully, you now have a grasp on your WHY mission statement for your blog. Do you have it posted in a place where you’ll see it often? Great!
