Appealing to your target market is essential if you want your business to be a success. Of course, making sure your company and your products are attractive in the eyes of the consumer is easier said than done. However, there are some tried and tested ways of attracting customers, so why not try these budget-friendly tips to attract new customers?

It’s no secret that people like a bargain. In fact, consumers will often buy products they don’t need, simply because they feel an offer is too good to miss. By running an offer or offering a discount, you can increase sales in the short-term, and gain repeat customers in the process.

 

If consumers are unfamiliar with your product or brand, this can be a great way to encourage them to make that elusive initial purchase. Once you’ve motivated them to buy once, the quality of your product and customer experience will ensure they come back for more.

 

Spread The Word

 

A recommendation from a friend, family member or colleague is still highly persuasive for consumers. By encouraging people to share your content, you’re effectively eliciting an endorsement from them, which will have a knock-on effect on the people they know.

 

Making your content easy to share is the first step in spreading the word, but offering incentives can also be an effective way of increasing your reach. Run a social media contest or offer a discount to customers who share your content and you’ll soon see the benefit of word of mouth marketing.

 

Make Your Products User-Friendly

 

For consumers, practicality and ease-of-use can be extremely important. Depending on your product, making sure consumers can get what they need out of it is a simple way of putting yourself ahead of the competition. How many food products are unusable or stale once the packaging has been opened, for example?  A simple switch to resealable plastic bags or food pouches is an effective way to overcome this problem and give customers a positive consumer experience.

 

You may have spent months or years developing a product, so don’t let your brand down when it comes to the extras. Ensure your packaging, delivery options, and ordering facilities all meet or surpass your customer’s expectations if you want your brand to be more appealing.

 

Collaborate With Other Firms

 

Whilst you won’t be able to work too closely with a direct competitor, you can collaborate with businesses who offer products which complement your own. A cross-brand promotion allows you to access another company’s existing customer base and exposes them to a product which is likely to be of interest to them.

 

Of course, you’ll need to make sure your collaboration partner shares the same target market as you, so you can be sure that you’re putting your products into the hands of the right audience. Working in collaboration with another company is also a great way to reduce your costs, so you successfully can make your business more appealing without significantly increasing your outgoings or investing too many resources.
